Construction ERP using calculations and estimates as an example
22 February 2024Speculation, profiteering, closed and lack of ERP transparency
22 February 2024Modern construction ERP systems not only include cost and time data calculation modules, but also typically include functions for document management, project progress tracking, contract management, supply chain and logistics, as well as integration with other business systems and platforms. This provides centralized and consistent management of all aspects of a construction project.
Integrated ERP analytical tools allow users to automate the creation of dashboards to monitor key project metrics.
In the future, ERP analytics will be used in conjunction with machine learning to improve accuracy and optimize the process of calculating future project attributes. The data and attributes analyzed and collected from ERP systems in Big Data will in the future become the foundation for creating predictive models that can accurately anticipate potential delays, risks of resource overruns, and possible changes in material costs.
The predictive power of data management systems will allow construction companies in the future to make informed decisions in advance, minimizing risks and optimizing processes using models based on artificial intelligence as one of the independent additional opinions (the topic of Big Data and analytics will be discussed in more detail in the chapter "The future: predictions, forecasts and machine learning ").
